This tidy narrow gauge railroad is part of the larger Denver and Rio Grande Southern running from Durango to Ridgway Colorado. The Railroad runs from the fictional town of Hondo to the mining area of Barto.  Durango and Ridgway represent the staging.  There are four extra trains along with a scheduled passenger train and a local peddler train.  The D&RGS interchange with the ML&L at Achcar, where they pick up logs for the sawmill at Barto and for coal traffic.  All of the trains are worked at Hondo Yard and two of the extras work along the line.  The peddler freight runs from Hondo to Barto and returns, working the interchange and a mine along the way.

About the Layout Host:
A mushroom walks into a bar, and says "Bartender!  Get me a beer!"  The bartender looks and him and says "Scram!  We don't serve your type here!"  The mushroom looks surprised and says, "Why not?  I'm a fun guy!"*

Similarly, John is a fun guy.  And thoughtful, too!

* fun guy...fungi...get it?
