The Denver Division of the Denver and Rio Grande Western represents the Rio Grand’s main yard in North Denver and runs West over the Moffat Line. The Denver Division is set in the 1960’s with second generation diesel’s providing most of the motive power. Lots of yard action with trains terminating and originating at North Yard. Operations consist of scheduled freights, local peddlers, and extras with the Rio Grande serving as a bridge route for other major railroads.

The engine terminal is fast-paced provides the proper power for the trains.  Denver Union Station is bustling with activity. The California Zephyr, The Prospector, The Yampa Valley and The La Junta Chief, to name a few, visit Denver daily. There is plenty of activity at the Railway Express Agency and the Railway Post Office. The Denver Division is a hot bed of activity and most of all fun.

About the layout host:

Rob Biddison is married to Michele and has two children who are avid railfans!.

Rob sez: Along with my interests in model railroading, he is an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and rider. There really is only one motor cycle. I also enjoy boating at Lake of the Ozarks.  Michele likes trains as well, especially the scenery.  My son Zack is turning into my little helper on the layout. He is always twisting my arm to work on the Rail Road.  He doesn’t have to twist to hard.  I work for ConocoPhillips Inc. It’s another one of those merged oil companies.  You know, we make the gas for your car. Please don't hold the price of gas against me. I'm planning for my retirement. Thanks for your contributions.
