Popeye started the conversion of paper puzzles into the AcrossLite software format. He called the process "to litsoftize" or "litsoftication" after the software maker company, Litsoft. It's no surprise that is was Bill Fox who stirred up and ended the following discussion thread that invented a word.

...Being as it wasn't the puzzle of the day, and someone took the time to litsoftize it
(BTW- "litsoftize" is really cumbersome- we should try to come up with something
a little easier!)...

New Name for Litsofting
How about Converted?

New Name for Litsofting
Perhaps we should say Litening?

Technically, one "prepares a formatted input file for Literate Systems Across Lite
software". Therefore I suggest to replace "litsoftize" with "to
prepare a formatted input file for Literate Systems Across Lite software". I'm sure
not everyone will adopt this humble suggestion, but it sure is self-explanatory!

Converting those files
How 'bout "Litzed"? Rhymes with "blitzed".

We love the suggestion from zincats 6/23/99 8:05pm, that the converting of a puzzle to
Litsoft's AcrossLite format be called "Litzing."

I also like "litzed" quick, obvious, neat.
