Shortz's First Week

Will Shortz picWill Shortz was hired after Eugene Maleska's unexpected passing.  Ten weeks had elapsed and Mel Taub had been doing the temporary editing job for eight.  People familiar with "Games" magazine probably knew what to expect, but for the rest of the subscribers they were wondering what change was coming.  The first seven Shortz-edited puzzles, Nov 21 - 27, 1993 are available in a zip file, so you too can remember how it all began.

As a special little bonus I've thrown in the first two NY Times puzzles that Will Shortz constructed, published on Sept 26 and Dec 24, 1975. Plus a Will Shortz cryptic that was the 2nd Sunday puzzle on May 15, 1983.
