WE'VE FOUND KEN CHASE!!!! KEN CHASE SENDS (13 MAY 01) Root Hawg Or Die!!! Greetings from the Chase Family. God has blessed Ann Marie and I since those four dark years of walking tours. Our family has grown to five kids (four boys - one girl); Boys are ages 8, 6, 3, 1 and the girl is in the center at 4 years old. Since graduation, we've been to lower Alabama (flight school), El Paso Texas, and are now finishing out over four years in Germany (with a 5 month visit to sunny Bosnia). We have loved everywhere we've gone, but none more than here in Europe (Great travel opportunities). This summer, we come home to the old Red, White and Blue (Kansas) and look forward everything that makes America so great (it sounds corny... but we've been gone for over four years!) Based on these great assignments, we have decided to stay in the Army for awhile longer and hope we will continue to cross paths again with everyone (looking forward to seeing everyone this fall... but dreading seeing those gray walls and someone finding out I never finished walking all my tours!)God Bless - Ken (Bushmaster)
JEFF JACK SENDS (16 JULY 00) "Kevin, You the man for running this show. The only update for me is that we just had baby number two, little miss Madison Elise Jack, June 1st. Still in Korea, as you well know, flying with 6th Cav. Am anxiously awaiting coming back to the states in the fall and plan on stopping through Arkansas to whoop Binc's ass. Keep me posted on the goings on in the Avn Branch at DA..."Later Bud, Jeff J (Attached are a few pics of the family. )"

SHAWN ARCH SENDS (3 AUG 00): KB, What do you mean it only takes about 5 minutes to send an email? I didn't pull all of those all-nighters because I was Tom Clancy when it came to typing up a paper. Kendra and I are doing fine and the kids growing up way to fast. Rachel is four now and Ryan will turn one tomorrow. We are still at Ft. Sheridan, IL doing one of the many AC/RC jobs that us captians get to (have to) choose from. We have a couple of months left here unless my extension gets approved and then we will be here until MAR 01. There is a very good chance that I will be Mr. Arch by this time next year but I haven't burned any bridges yet. I still try to play softball or go golfing as much as I can but working with the Reserves pretty much wastes your entire summer. We haven't seen any fellow Hawgs since we have been here at Ft. Sheridan but if you are in the Chicago area or have a long fight layover at O'Hare Airport, give us a call so we can get together. Shawn MIKE BALL SENDS (2 FEB 01): "What's up baby,Yes, I am still single and running will. I am in my 38th month of command and will not leave until somewhere around the 43 or 44 month mark. MARILYN NICHOLAS (King) SENDS (13 Jul 00): "I don't really have any news. My life hasn't changed significantly in the last two years. I'm still working at DuPont and nothing is on the horizon at this point, but my eyes are always open. I send my regards to all the Hawgs! I hope all is well."Marilyn Nicholas
GREG RECKER SENDS (15 Aug 02): Hey Hawgs, How’s it going? It is time for another update. I have moved back to Palm Coast, Florida from Connecticut (for many reasons). One major one was that my mother-in-law has cancer and is going through some tough times in her life, and my wife and I wanted our children to get to be with their grandparents as long as possible. Another reason was I have been given an awesome job opportunity in Daytona Beach (right across the street from Daytona International Speedway – NASCAR heaven for those who are fans). I now work for Raydon Corporation. We make simulation systems for the military, mostly for the Army and Army National Guard (M1 tank and M2 Bradley simulators). Hence, the job is awesome – I am the engineering manager. There is an ’86 grad here as well – he is our corporate lawyer, Bill Rice. Our 3 girls, Amanda (9 ˝), Abigail (7), and Elizabeth (2), are really enjoying being back down South (although this is the first taste for Elizabeth). We purchased a travel trailer and have been camping throughout Florida and having a wonderful time all summer. I have been really trying everything possible to get to the Army/Navy game this year, but at this point, it doesn’t look like it is going to happen. I am trying to get together a business plan for a proposed business, and plans coincide with the beginning of December. So, if I even get there, it will be last minute. Any takers on investment opportunities in my proposed company???? I also was (sadly) unable to attend Brian Kewak’s wedding – I hope you have a great marriage, Brian! If you ever find yourself traveling to Disney World or any Florida vacation, please stop by – we love visitors. We are about 60 miles South of Jacksonville and 30 miles North of Daytona right off of I-95 (exit 91C, Palm Coast). Our phone number is 386-447-3980. Cathi and I hope the rest of you are doing great. Keep in touch! Also, here are my e-mail addresses: grecker@raydon.com greg.recker@worldnet.att.net O.K. That's all for now. Rock Hard - High Speed!" Gregory S. Recker Mutant
Hello, HAWGS!!! First off, I'd like to say what a great time Angie and I had at the reunion. It was absolutely fantastic to see everyone that could make it and enjoy good company and conversation. Of course most of the conversation went back to old stories of our Woo Poo days, but what else could you expect? To all of you that could not make this reunion for whatever reason, you really missed it and I'm sure you'll try twice as hard to come to the next one! Angie and I are still doing very well. We're both happy in our jobs, which is almost impossible to believe, huh?! She has officially come into her own as far as being the best little principle of any private school in town. I believe she is much more comfortable being out of the classroom now even though she knows that she will go back sometime in the future. I am still trudging along in the daily grind of making car parts. Our plant is undergoing two more expansions currently so we continue to grow. I am also preparing to start grad school. OH MY GOD!!!!! I never thought I'd be saying that. As far as children go, I truly appreciate all the "encouraging" words and stories from everyone at the reunion, but we're still on the same game plan. Wooohoooo!! Remember if you're ever coming through Knoxville, stop by for a visit. Our home is always open to any of you. We wish all of you the very best!! "I'm still in Korea. My DEROS is
currently 4 June but so far I have no Vonnette
"Monica and I have been in the D.C. area for a year now. It's Outstanding!. Monica took a break from teaching, and she now works for Abott Laboratories as a Pharamaceutical Representative. She makes a heck of a lot more money than I do in the Army. What's up with that? Anyway, She's diggin her new gig. She's Awesome! The Kids, Kevin (K.C.), Kayla, and Paige are doing fine. For me, I'm working in the Hoffman Building (DA) as an Assignment Officer for Aviation Branch, and I must say the best part about working there is being able to run into fellow Hawgs. In a few short months, I've either seen or talked to; Ken Chase, Rick Crawford, Brian Kiwak, Bill Erwin, and Jeff Jack. I even ran into Brad Golden, and I used to work with Rob Forte - now that's cool! Anyway, we should be here for a little while (2 more years). Now, even though we're in the area and close to home, I must say that the highlight of my time here thus far was the Camping Trip I recently took with my 7 year old son - It was the "Bomb"! I'll have to tell you my "war" stories over our favorite "Hawg" beverage. Ya know, I think I'm getting old. What's up with that? Well, as always, it's great to keep in touch. . By the way, The Berry final count: 1 boy, 2 girls. " I'll stay in touch with everyone. KB The FAB 5: Monica, Kayla, Paige, K.C. K.B.
JASON HODELL SENDS: Hey brother--Here is my blurb--sorry it took so long: Jason and Adrienne have settled down in Maryland with their new son, Graham, and dog, Sammy. Jason is working for a technology company called Digex in Maryland and enjoys family time, golfing and volleyball when not at work. And he always trys to catch two or three Army football games each season. See you at Army/Navy. Sony CHRISTIAN CHILDS SENDS (13
FEB 01) All, This will be a big summer for Kerri and me - we're expecting our first child in July. Needless to say, Kerri and I are thrilled. That Army discipline really paid off - we got pregnant on the first try. No, Doug, not the first time we "did it," but the first month. I was hoping for a few months to practice, but what can you do....I'm still working for Compaq as a marketing programs manager in the K-12 education market. I love the job - Compaq is a great company, I work with good people, and Houston is a fun place. Kerri is working (part-time) in a doctor's office, putting her Exercise Science degree to good use. On occasion she even gets to see professional baseball players in their underwear - fortunately for her it's not David Wells (Cereal has asked her to fix him up, but that wouldn't be right). Kerri and I are already making plans for the 10-year reunion and we look forward to seeing everyone! If you're ever in the Houston area let us know. Here's our new address: 54 S. Dreamweaver Cir. MARK ARNOTT SENDS: "Things are going good for the Arnott crew. Geoffrey is 4 and Ryan is 2 and they are both full of energy. We moved into a new house in January and have decided that Raleigh is where we are putting down roots. We really like it here. Aside from a hurricane now and then the weather is decent and Raleigh is small enough that it doesn't have that big metropolis feel, but large enough to have a decent economy. And while we have settled on a community, I haven't settled on a job. I left IBM at the end of June to work for Amdahl as a contractor to the US Postal Service. I am picking up some good experience in the new job, but I can't say that I am enjoying it. I thought I knew what bureacracy was, but I've never seen anything like this. I wouldn't put any bets on this gig lasting longer than a year. But there is plenty of work for computer nerds in the Raleigh-Durham area."
BRIAN KEWAK SENDS (11 NOV 01):
KB,
My update is that I have
nothing to update. It was great seeing all the Hawgs and their families at the
reunion and those that couldn't attend were definitely missed. Just like Mutant
said, "now I know why I've always lost girls to guys like you...it's the STORIES you
tell!" All is well here at Colorado State. Kiwi
"The Childs/Vallejo mini reunion was a success! Was great except for the loss to Memphis at the football game. Christian told great remembrances of how he was always the first to spout off his knowledge to the squad leader during Beast Baracks AND his little puking episode at the base of the ski slope as we were marching back at the end. Spent the whole night before the game laughing our buts off at 'remembrances.' Is that a word? The spouses thought we were nuts though. It was amazing to see all the really old grads at the 'official' Army tailgate. Two from the June '42 class. One even asked the Supe why we were losing in every sport this year. The band even had new uniforms. Yellow shirts and BDU bottoms instead of grey. I'm sure that Dave would have stayed in the Band longer if he could have dressed as sharp! Christian ran into some of 'his' classmates and even had time to talk with his old mentor and Jason Hodell's idol......BRAD GOLDEN!" Doug
BILL & SUE ERWIN SEND(11 NOV 01): Hey KB. Great to see everybody that could make the reunion. Looking forward to the next one. For those that weren't there, the Erwins are on the road again moving to Memphis. I took a job there after Labor Day as a plant manager, running a small adhesives factory there. Other than getting ready for the move, things are pretty much status quo. George is in 2nd grade, Drew's in kindergarden, little Bill will be 2 right after Christmas, and Sue's running ragged keeping up with them, especially with me only home on weekends for the last 2 months. Any time your near Memphis, drop by. Take care and Root Hawg. Bill

CARLOS CANINO SENDS: I'm out. Florida is great (and warm). Florida State's even better, and I'm enjoying the hell out of the scenery. KB asked me if I felt like Rodney Dangerfield in "Back to School." My response, "Hot tub, boat, and all." Every so often, to relieve the stress of law school, I go find Chip Stanton (yeah, formerly "New Cadet Stanton" now "One-L Stanton") in the hallway and ask him why he didn't shave this morning. If you're ever riding along I-10 and want to stop in (or in need of some legal advice), I'll be at the FSU law library. First hour's free, Grease.
JEFF JENNETTE SENDS: Hello all from Monterey!
DAVE HEJL SENDS (21 JUL 00): I am still in the Houston area and just got in touch with Xtian. He lives about the same distance from downtown as I do but in the opposite direction. I am sure we will be able to get together and go to some Astros' games. I am still with Diedrich Coffee, www.diedrich.com, as the general manager of the Clearlake area coffeehouse. We are at the present time anxiously awaiting expansion in Texas. That will give me more of a challenge and move me to a place that has changes in elevation besides freeway overpasses! Any Hawg who would like a some coffee, let me know and I will send it as soon as I can. In the meantime, I am continuing to skydive and will attach a couple of pictures. This is truly my passion. I'm glad I found it before I went utterly insane. The only problem is that skydiving negatively impacts my ability to sustain a meaningful relationship with a woman. I spend all of my free time at the drop zone along with my money. But on the bright side, it actually helps my ability to entertain completely meaningless relationships with multiple women. The pictures were taken in February at Skydive Texas near Denton. I flew to Dallas and went to visit a couple of drop zones that weekend. I was not being serious at all and just jumped in jeans and sweatshirt versus my jumpsuit which of course matches my parachute rig and harness. I had loads of fun! In March I went to Las Vegas and won enough playing craps to cover my trip plus a safety device for my reserve parachute. I can't afford not to go back. So I am planning another trip in August. If I get really lucky, I just might stay. I still have my cat, Wanda. Everyone says she is fat but the truth is that she just has short legs. Thanks for the web page maintenance. It is awesome and I really enjoy reading everyone's blurbs! Cereal
Thanks for maintaining the Mighty Hawg Page. You do a great job with it and its great to know that we all can check it out, especially with everyone moving around -- thanks. Trish and I have had a great Y2K so far. Andrew Michael was born March 30, 2000. Early indications are that he throws left, bats right, and has overwhelming speed in the 40. I've attached a picture of young Drew, but please disregard the possible Navy reference on his overalls; Trish has not been fully trained yet on the Army / Navy rivalry--other than knowing it as a day where her husband drinks too much and yells at the television. We need to get her to the next game and indoctrinate her properly A couple of weeks after Andrew was born, we moved to Bentonville, Ar. I took a promotion with WalMart and we really like it out here. It's a pretty unique town because everyone here has some sort of affiliation to WalMart, and nobody is from Arkansas. We live in a great neighborhood and have met some great people. I recently went to my brother's batchelor party in Boston--ROUGH WEEKEND! For you boys who have had the pleasure of meeting my bro and our Mass buddies, you'll be glad to know that the Eggman, Gordy, Kolby, Billy Blaze, Doc, and Harry have not changed a bit, we're just a little slower on the dance floor. I talked with Jeff Jack via Email to see if he would let me borrow his car again for a weekend. Copes, I don't recommend you ask him because I can tell you the answer. Jeez, some guys just hold a grudge! Talk to you soon, and thanks again for keeping the HAWG page running.
Mike
