The
Rieger Hotel was originally constructed in 1915.
The structure is a three story commercial building
constructed of reinforced concrete and brick with a
terra cotta veneer on the main facade. It served
many years as a hotel for visitors arriving at Kansas
City's Union Station. It later became offices for
a liquor distributor, studio and offices for a
well-known local photographer, a restaurant and finally
a very popular gay bar. When the Rieger Hotel building
was purchased for renovation it was in very poor
condition.
The
renovation project was begun in 2000 and was completed
in 2003. The entire first floor has been restored and
is the home of Kansas City's leading restaurant for
spontaneous seasonal cuisine;
1924 Main. Visit
their

The
Rieger Hotel is located in the heart of the Kansas
City's
Crossroads District, an urban mixed-use community
that has emerged as a vibrant center of art, loft
living, enterprise, culture and entertainment.
