TO EXCELSIOR SPRINGS.

Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Coons left, yesterday morning, for Excelsior Springs Missouri, where Mr. C. will take treatment for a bad case of rheumatism.  Mr. Coons has been affected for several years, and for the past few days has been unable to leave his room.  He is not otherwise sick and suffers little pain, except when he attempts to move about.  But he is certainly in bad shape and his friends are sincerely hoping that the Excelsior Springs treatment will produce the desired effect. And he will soon return home a well man. BB

S. E. Coons is Dead.

A few weeks ago Mr. S. E. Coons was taken to Excelsior Springs, Missouri, in hopes of receiving treatment that would prolong his life.  Everything was done that could be done, but to no avail, and he died at an early hour last Saturday morning.  Mrs. Coons and children were with him at the time of his death.  The remains were shipped to Bucklin, arriving here Monday.  The funeral services were held in the M. E. church, the sermon being preached by Rev. I. N. Parker, in the absence of Rev. Williams.  Upon its arrival here the body was taken charge of by the I. O. O. F. Lodge of this place.

Mr. Coons was one of the earliest settlers and has been in business in Bucklin for a great many years. BB

B. Bryan and wife, of Greensburg, attended the funeral of S. E. Coons.  Mrs. Bryan is a sister of the deceased. BB
