Edward KETCHAM

A Genealogical Dictionary of The First Settlers of New England, Before 1692, Volume #3
By James Savage
KETCHAM, EDWARD, Ipswich 1635, freeman 9 Mar. 1637, may reasonably be thought progenitor of all of the name, in our country and therefore I regret the more that we are ignorant of the circumstances of his migration and subsequent residence. By conjecture it seems to me, that EDWARD of Stratford, who d. bef. 1678, was his son whose daughter Rebecca m. 14 Feb. 1678, Thomas Taylor of Norwalk.

Edward and family migrated to America with the Winthrop fleet of Puritans. First records are found Ipswich Plantation of Mass, bay Colony. He became a freeman in 1635 and was on the board of freemen, 1637. He moved to Long Island around 1651. He died in June 1655 & his will is recorded in Stratford, Ct.
