CEMETERY: Edwards Cem., Beech Creek Twp, Greene Co IN.   Eva Edwards in 1992, wrote that on some census there was a baby John 2 yrs old living in James household. Also, one record she has shows a John the 4th or 5th child of James & Susannah. Eva shows James Edwards as born in 1799 Snowhill, NC. in one place and Surry Co NC in another. I don't know how it was in 1799, but on today's atlas they are across the state from each other. She also shows his death as Stanford IN whereas I show Solsberry, both in Greene Co IN.

Mary EDWARDS

From Jana Trent: found Mary on 1850 Census of Woodford, IL along with Isom Edwards family. She felt that Mary and Isom were probably other children of James and Susanna. The two fit into both the 1830 and 1840 census of JamesEdwards family.

Isom Isaac EDWARDS

Jana Trent: Found Isom Edwards family on 1850 IL Census. Connection to Burch family (via history of Jefferson Township, Fayette, IA article) led her to believe that Isom was son of James/Susanna Edwards. The Mary Edwards listed in the census was felt to be a daughter of James/Susanna. Both birth dates tie into James' 1830 and 1840 census tallies. William and Silas Edwards had gone to Fayette, IA at the same time so it is reasonable to assume they were of the same family.

Articles on the Oakdale Cemetery, the Old Oelwein Cemetery, gives the name Isaac Edwards as being the second person buried there in September of 1853. The article on the history of Fayette Co, IA, Jefferson Township states that Isom Edwards and Rev. James Burch came there in 1852. In 1853 Mr. Edwards became sick and died in September and was buried in the Oelwein Cemetery. It is felt that Isom and Isaac are the same.
