Ralph PARKER

Was in Gloucester in 1647, removed to New London 1651. His first daughter Mary was by his first wife who is unknown. He was a master mariner and Merchant.

Richard Wyatt, it is said; Mehitable m. William Pendall; and Rebecca m. 1685 John Prentiss, as his sec. wife.

PG 67 & 68: "On the 19th of October, 1650, Grants were made by the townsmen to ... These were all from Gloucester, a town on the eastern coast of Massachusetts, situated upon the peninsula of Cape Ann. Mr. Richard Bliman had been the minister of Gloucester, for eight years, and was now engaged to become the minister of the Pequot plantation. The others were a party of his friends, who purposed to remove with him, and came on to make preparatory arrangements. William Keeny, Ralph Parker, William Wellman, Robert Brookes, Thomas Stanton and John Elderkin, all had grants of nearly the same date, and the three first named probably belonged also to the Cape Ann party."

William KEENEY

He was in Gloucester where he had 3 of his children. He was a part of the Cape Anne party that traveled with Rev. Blinman to the New World. He & 8 other men went to New London, Ct. from Gloucester in 1651 to make arrangements for Rev. Blinman who was to be minister of the Pequot Colony. In l662 he was 6l years and his wife 63 years.

DAVID, New London, only son of the preceding m. Sarah, d. of William Hough, had there bapt. Mary, in July 1677; Sarah, Nov. 1679; David, 12 Nov. 1682; and Elizabeth and Hannah, 1691; but sold his est. 1688, and d. 1700. His widow m. William Stevens.

William HOUGH

He was from Cheshire, England & came probably in l640 with Rev. Richard Blinman to Gloucester, Mass. He was a housewright/carpenter. He removed to Saybrook, Ct. first then to New London, Ct. sometime around l65l to l653. He was a deacon in the church.

Jonathan, 7 Feb. 1660; Deborah, 21 Oct. 1662; Abigail, 7 Mar. 1666; and Ann, 29 Aug. 1667; was deac. and d. 10 Aug. 1683. Of the ch. we have not traces of sev. Jonathan, prob. d. young; Hannah m. 11 Feb. 1662, John Borden; Abiah m. 18 Dec. 1667, William Douglass; and Sarah m. David Carpenter.

John BOYNTON

Our John Boynton where was he? Deed Book 1, Excn p.55 for Greenfield, records a deed to him dated July 14, 1788 from Elisha Mack; and Deed Book 11, p. 90 reports a deed to him from John Boynton, Jr. March 23, 1797, and he figures in other deeds, but I dont find him in the 1790 census.

John Phillip HARLESS

He moved his family from Giles Co., Va. to Boone Co., W. Va. & settled near Peytona on Big Coal River. During the American Revolution he volunteered under the Command of Captain Floyd and served from the Spring of l777 until the first part of Oct. of the same year. He was stationed at Smithfield, Va. In the Spring of l778 he served in the same garrison from the first of April until the first of Oct. In the Spring of l779 he volunteered under the Command of Captain John Lucas & served from April lst to Oct. lst. He was an Indian spy & fought against the Indians to protect the Va. frontier. He was in the Virginia militia. He was killed by a falling tree when he was 89 years of age.

His will is on file in Tazewell Co., Va.

He lived in Farmington, Ct. His wife married twice after his death.
