Virginia's obituary: She lived in Powhattan and died in hospital in Hiawatha. Her son Gerald LeRoy lived in Golden, CO and Jimmie in Powhattan.

He was a yeoman - Landed gentry. His will was probated Dec. 6, 1552, Buckinghamshire, England. He is the earliest progenitor of the Merwin line found.
He moved to Northampton, Mass from Windsor, Ct., where he farmed until l709, and then he moved his family to Coventry, Conn. He was married l9 years to his first wife and had l3 children, married 7 years to his second wife & had l child, and married 9 years to his third wife. He had 50 grandchildren.
