John TWITCHELL

John was born in Chariton Co, MO. Moved with his brothers and sisters and parents to Glenstead, Morgan Co when he was about 10 years old. John and Emma were married at the home of the bride. They lived in Morgan Co until 1918. Through an old school friend, Walter Leatherman, he purchased a farm about 9 miles south of Glasgow in Howard Co on the Missouri River. They moved to Howard Co in 1917. He was a farmer until about 1942 when he became an attendant at the Missouri State Hospital at Fulton, MO. He sold the farm and moved to Fulton about 1953 to 1954.

TWITCHELL

Jesse E. Twitchell, 74, Fulton, died March 25, 1999, at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia.

He was born March 2, 1925, in Glasgow, a son of John and Emma Williams Twitchell. He was married June 4, 1946, in Fulton, to Helen Salmons, who survives at the home.

He retired from Fulton State Hospital in 1984 where he was an aide for 31 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include: two sons, Eddie Twitchell and John O. Twitchell, both of Fulton; one daughter, Trudy Witt, Fulton; two brothers, Gene Twitchell, Calwood, and John Twitchell, Glasgow; one sister, Sarah Thomas, Boonville; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Entombment will be in Callaway Memorial Garden Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Memorials are suggested to his family.
