"This is not Sarah Mullinex as some researchers have suggested. That Sarah is believed to have married Richard Thornburg (Thornberry) and remained in N.C. as indicated by deeds there.
"Jonathan Mullenix's Will Randolph Co., N.C. B6l, Dec. l7, l790, proved .Aug. l800 names Jesse, son of Sarah. Sarah was his oldest daughter. The Randolph Co., N.C. l790 census shows George Thornberry as the onlyThornberry with a -l6 male in the family.
"Jeanne Adams, Brookfield, Mo., letter of March 27, l990 quoting letter of Sharon Hinkle, Philadelphia, Pa. to her: 'Two Randolph Co., N.C.deeds: Andrew Hoover to Jesse Thornburg, 8 Aug. l832, two tracts of land in Randolph Co. one containing l00 acres the other 75 acres. Deed was registered 22 Aug. l839. The other deed was between a Sarah Thornburgh and a Jesse Mullinix Thornburgh to Mullinix a tract containing 39 acres.Deed was registered 23 Aug. l839'"

"That Richard and Sarah had a son named Greenberry is proven by Macon Co., Mo. deed book A280, dated July 7, l838, File ___l40, in which Richard conveys 'to my son Greenberry Summers' three slaves, a woman and two young male children. In return, Greenberry is 'to provide for and maintain the said Grantor and his wife during life.'
The problem comes from knowing which of three Greenberry Summers in the general area is Richard's son.
