Mary "Polly"

The 1850 Macon Co., Mo. Census has her living with her son Isaac & being 65 years old.

1830 RANDOLPH CO., MO. CENSUS

Temple Hickman

EDWIN AND ELENDER WEBBER CHILES HICKMAN, by Hope A. Hilton, l967 pg. 84
"On Dec. 25, l85l, Temple Hickman went to the woods - government land - to get wood to burn for the house. He did not come back till so late that Sallie became alarmed. She thought possibly he had stopped at Baldwin's to see about some shoes being made. To make sure she sent Julia to see about the shoes. When the latter returned and dropped the shoes on the floor, Sallie's heart sank. Soon the team of oxen came pulling the tongue of the wagon. The neighbors were notified by William. Tom and Josh Baldwin went in search of Temple. They found him
on a partly loaded wagon dead. There had been no foul play."

"Temple had 'took up' 40 acres of land where Alfred Shepherd now lives. Abstracts show that he bought the 40 north of that from Riley Davis."
